SANDY LOVATT BSC MIEE

Sandy specialises in management consultantcy. His background is in information management, electronics and ICT. He has a particular interest in local economic development,
especially the role of small businesses. This encompasses environmental issues and the relationship of local businesses to the social and cultural activities in the community.

In recent years his activities have involved setting up small business networks in the Thames Valley
targeted at enabling them to increase business and sales.

He has a military background with an education spanning Military College and the Royal Military Academy Sandhurst and the Royal Military College of Science Shrivenham. This part of his life saw active service in Northern Ireland and as Commander

of the 229 Signal Squadron Berlin.

On leaving the army, he has worked in senior roles for Software Sciences Ltd, BT Concordia, Contract Director in Apple Computing European Customer Support and as Head of Network Services at SEMA Group UK. Subsequently running his own businesses.

As a member of the Federation of Small Businesses he has been an activist becoming Regional Chairman for Thames Valley. He developed and led an acclaimed study into the small business economy in Oxfordshire, carried out by Oxfordshire Economic Observatory through Oxford Brookes University, and published in March 2007.

He brings practical experience as a local Councillor and the processes of both local and national governance. Sandy is an accomplished strategist and planner with a particular emphasis on political connectivity and economic planning.
